Mark your calendar for the upcoming Recycle-O-Rama!

Do you have laptops, cell phones, televisions or other electronics that you are not using anymore and want to get rid of? If so, mark your calendar for Saturday, May 19th for the Recycle-O-Rama at Hawthorn mall. The event will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the Sears parking lot. Electronics recycling, latex paint collection and paper shredding will take place. The Long Grove Park District is partnering with the Village of Vernon Hills, Vernon Township, State Representative Carol Sente, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County and Hawthorn mall to make this event possible.

What items will be collected?
CRT Monitors, cell phones, televisions, printers, laptops, CD/DVD players, computer towers and small appliances.

Are there any limits as to how many items you can bring?
There will be a limit of two boxes of paper shredding per vehicle. Latex paint will cost $3/ per gallon and there will be no chemical waste recycling at the Recycle O Rama. However, chemical waste recycling will be available at the Metra train station in Vernon Hills on May 19.
