The Best Places to go Apple Picking in the Area!

Apple picking season is here! Whether you are looking for an orchard to pick your own apples or an orchard packed with family entertainment, corn mazes and petting zoos, we’ve mapped out some of the best spots just a short drive from the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

Heinz Orchard
1050 Crest Road, Libertyville, IL
Open Saturdays & Sundays from 10 am – 4 pm
Heinz Orchard is a small family-run orchard. While they don’t have corn mazes or other family activities, it’s a great place to visit if you are just looking to pick your own apples. Strollers and wagons are permitted, and they accept cash only.

Goebertt’s Pumpkin Patch & Apple Orchard

Open daily from 8 am – 6 pm
Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch is a family-owned pumpkin patch and apple orchard with a pumpkin slide, pig race, giraffe barn, wagon ride, pumpkin express train, and apple picking. Plus, they have amazing hand dipped caramel apples!

All Seasons Apple Orchard
14510 IL Route 176, Woodstock, IL
Open daily on weekdays from 10 am – 5 pm and weekends 10 am – 6 pm
Apple picking, pumpkin patch, corn maze, petting zoo, pig races, weekend magic shows, jumping pillow and a mini zip line are just some of the fun activities at this orchard. They also press apple cider on-site, make caramel from scratch, and make doughnuts daily.

Apple Orchards in Southern Wisconsin

Harvest Time Orchard

Open Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am – 5:30 pm
Visit Harvest Time Orchard & choose from over 13 different varieties of apples. In addition to apple picking, they offer pumpkin and cherry picking. There is also a doughnut shop, a cider barn, a brat shop, a smoke shop, and the Red Barn.

Apple Holler Family Farm
5006 S Sylvania Ave, Sturtevant, WI
Open daily from 8 am – 3 pm
You will get the full Wisconsin experience at this former working dairy farm. Located just over the border in Wisconsin, you’ll find a 70-acre orchard, restaurant & store.  You can take a hayride and enjoy picking your own apples and pumpkins. Plus Apple Holler has corn mazes & farm animals. Before you leave, browse the Country Store for baked goods like apple doughnuts and caramel apples.

The Elegant Farmer
545 Main St, Mukwonago, WI
Open daily from 8 am – 6 pm
It’s worth the drive across the border to visit The Elegant Farmer. It’s home to the gourmet apple pie baked in a paper bag – named the best pie in America by the Food Network, Gourmet Magazine and the Wall Street Journal. After enjoying a slice of pie, you can pick your own apples, pumpkins and squash.
