Attend the annual Hanukkah concert featuring the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band. The group will perform festive songs in two one-hour shows at 11 am and 1 pm. Tickets are $20 in advance and $23 day of.
Gingerbread House Workshops at Taste Buds Kitchen | Several classes offered | 2521 Waukegan Rd, Bannockburn
Parent and child pairs work together to design and decorate their very own Gingerbread House. Enjoy the endless decorating options, from frosted candy shingles, to gummy window panes and pretzel picket fences, you will love turning your Gingerbread House into an edible work-of-art.
Breakfast with Santa at Lambs Farm | December 8, 9, 15 & 16 | 14245 W Rockland Rd, Libertyville
Santa is making his annual trek to Lambs Farm to celebrate the holiday. Kids can not only enjoy a delicious brunch and visit with Santa, but they can also choose a holiday gift, make a picture frame, decorate a gingerbread man, make sand art ornaments and more. This market is definitely worth the trip downtown! You haven’t experienced the holidays in Chicago until you’ve stepped inside this giant open-air market inspired by a similar seasonal tradition in Nuremberg, Germany.
Ice Skating in Millennium Park | Until Mar 10, 2019 | McCormick Tribune Plaza & Ice Rink -1 N Michigan Ave, Chicago
Skate under the Chicago skyline and within eyeshot of the Chicago Christmas Tree at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink in Millennium Park. If you don’t own a pair of skates, you’ll have to pay to rent but admission to the rink is free.
Holiday Windows at Macy’s on State Street | 111 N State St, Chicago
From November to January, peer into large windows exquisitely decorated by a dedicated team of painters, welders, costume-makers, engineers, visual artists and carpenters. Combining traditional old-school artistry with gorgeous visual elements, the windows are adorned with gorgeous imaginative scenes.
